Husqvarna bars (.325″)
The Husqvarna 257 takes all Husqvarna guide bars with the Small mount, .325″ pitch and .050″ or .058″ gauge when fitted with a .325″ drive sprocket (default). The compatible original bars are listed in the two tables below. Recommended bar lengths are 13″ to 20″, compatible bars outside this range greyed out.
Selection guide: the narrow-kerf HLN-250 or XF-250 (X-Force) bars with a SP33G Pixel chain run the lightest and are a good choice for occasional use; the replaceable-nose HT-250 and HT-258 last the longest in heavy use.

Husqvarna bars (3/8″)
Husqvarna 257 may optionally also be fitted with a 3/8″ pitch drive sprocket. In this configuration, the 257 takes Husqvarna bars with the Small mount, 3/8″ pitch and .050″ or .058″ gauge. These bars are listed in the two tables below; the too long 24″ models greyed out.
Selection guide: the FT-280, FT-288 and XF-280 bars are affordable choices for general use. The replaceable-nose HT-280 and HT-288 are more durable in heavy use, while the hard-nose HA-280 is the best for dirty cutting conditions.
